A bit about myself:
I am a junior project manager at BURG and before that I was working in the culture and arts industry, supporting several festivals such as the Istanbul Biennial, Istanbul Film Festival, Jazz Festival etc. I am a Yoruk (a Turkic ethnic subgroup) from Burdur, Turkiye. I live in Istanbul now.
What is my area of specialization at BURG and what do I like about it?
I am trained in simultaneous and consecutive interpreting. My specialization is political simultaneous interpreting. I plan to specialize in managing interpreting projects following my background in university.
What do I love about working for BURG?
The healthy environment BURG provides. It is a place I feel supported while achieving my goals. The team is so nice and always ready to help. I can learn from the experienced professionals in the industry whom I see as a role model. I believe I can grow here to be a professional who is a planned and trustworthy team player.
What are some of my hobbies?
I do oil paint and watercolor along with filling up sketchbooks with doodles, portrait and anatomy studies. I’ve been filling sketchbooks for the past 7 years and have over 10 sketchbooks. I also play the piano and the saz (a traditional Turkish instrument). I really enjoy recreating the songs and melodies I find comforting with my own interpreting. Lately, I’m really into jewelry making.
