Marketing Manager (Remote)
About BURG Translations
BURG Translations is one of the oldest language services companies in the United States, founded in 1936. For 90 years we have provided translation, interpreting, and language services to regulated industries: healthcare, life sciences, pharmaceutical, medical device manufacturers, law firms, and other organizations where a translation error carries regulatory, legal, or patient safety consequences. We hold ISO 9001:2015, ISO 17100:2015, and ISO 27001:2022 certifications and are HIPAA and GDPR compliant.
Our decades of experience and expertise mean we can take on the most complex projects, but we know that it’s only because of our dedicated team of amazing people, who work hard to exceed our client’s expectations every day.
We’re dedicated to our people, because we know our team is our greatest asset.
The Role
This is a full ownership position. The Marketing Manager owns the BURG marketing function: strategy, content, execution, and measurement. This role is ideal for a senior marketing generalist who enjoys owning outcomes end-to-end rather than operating as one specialist within a large marketing department.
You will report to the CEO and be responsible for strategy and day-to-day execution. You will coordinate with our web development agency for technical site work, but all content, campaigns, copy, and marketing decisions are yours to own and produce directly.
Our buyers are Directors of Regulatory Affairs, Chief Compliance Officers, and Procurement Directors at hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, law firms, and medical device manufacturers. The writing standard for this role is high and a required competency.
Success in this role requires comfort moving between strategy and execution. Some days involve defining positioning and campaign direction; others involve writing copy, reviewing website updates, or analyzing results.
What We Are Looking For
Non-Negotiable
- Native or near-native English writing ability
- Demonstrated B2B writing portfolio showing content written for technical or expert-level audiences, not consumer or general business audiences
- Proven ability to independently manage multiple simultaneous workstreams while maintaining visibility into priorities, deadlines, and status.
- Strategic marketing capability: you can build a content strategy, defend it with reasoning, and adjust it based on data
Strongly Preferred
- Experience writing for or marketing within regulated industries: healthcare, life sciences, pharmaceutical, legal, or adjacent B2B verticals
- Familiarity with compliance-adjacent content: regulatory language, certification frameworks, data security standards, or language access law
- Experience with SEO and GEO strategy and execution, including keyword research, on-page optimization, and content performance analysis
- Experience managing a web agency or development partner for content publishing workflows
Tools
- Proficiency with email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, HubSpot, or equivalent)
- Working knowledge of SEO tools (Semrush, Ahrefs, or equivalent)
- Comfort with project management tools and maintaining structured trackers
- LinkedIn content management experience
What We Offer
- Full ownership of the marketing function with direct CEO access and the ability to shape the future direction of marketing at BURG
- Support from external agency partners for technical website implementation and specialized projects.
- Remote, full-time position – work from anywhere with reliable internet and electricity
- US business hours: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM CST
