The BURG Training and Certification Program

Each learning track consists of multiple courses increasing in difficulty and skill to provide training at different levels, making the BURG Certification Programs suitable for translators of all expertise levels.

Each course within these levels consists of 15-20 lessons, each lasting 1-3 hours. The lessons incorporate various learning activities, including quizzes, practical exercises, and assignments, to ensure participants gain the necessary skills and knowledge.

Basic Level

Entry-level training in the basic translation workflows (TEP) and translation project stages.

Covers translator and proofreader roles, benefits of multiple linguists, project setup, time management, deliverables, additional duties, and risk management.

Introductory Level

This general overview will explore the main textual, linguistic, and cultural issues involved in translation.

Linguists will obtain an in-depth understanding of the translation industry’s history, principles, types, qualifications, and prospects and the implications of AI.

Advanced Level

This module reviews the advanced translation principles and diverse techniques that can enhance the quality and efficiency of translations.

Linguists will learn how to manage complex texts to be translated and a variety of advanced translation strategies and techniques.

Expert Level

Focuses on expert-level translation and text processing techniques, specialized strategies, translation methodologies, and certified and sworn translations.

Linguists leave with advanced analytical skills to enhance translation quality and adapt translation techniques to diverse and specialized content.
